GENETIC COUNSELING ASSISTANT

The University of South Carolina has recently introduced a Genetic Counseling Assistant (GCA) position for USC students. Each semester one student is selected to work with the USC Genetic Counseling team.

PERSONAL CARE AIDE

Many individuals and families in our community need assistance with day-to-day activities. Personal Care Aides are specially trained individuals who provide services to these families. Service provision through PCAs and other qualified providers is coordinated through the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs (DDSN) .

Organizations such as the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling (ACGC), American College of Medical Genetics (ACMG) and National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) are great places to start your search for the perfect career.
